Since the very beginning of my YouTube channel, I have been sharing the same exclusive content for members of Patreon and YouTube. But publishing the same on both means that I'm not using Patreon to its fullest potential because the membership features on YouTube are fairly basic.

Furthermore, I am also dealing with articles on Medium, a newsletter here on Substack, my blog, and an online store. And I also have to take care of my consulting business that consumes many hours of my days.

And all this in two languages ๐Ÿ˜ฎ: English and Portuguese.

Sometimes we need to take a step back to go even further in the future. I needed to focus to be able to make more content for you.

The Plan

I noticed that many of these services have similar features, and after comparing them over the past few days, here's what I'll try.

  • Exclusive content like videos, texts, images, etc. will remain as it is, with the same posts on Patreon and YouTube. However, I'll start taking advantage of some of the Patreon-only features.

  • From now on, the articles I was publishing behind the Medium paywall will be posted on Patreon for members of the Enthusiasts tier.

  • Likewise, I'll start using Patreon to replace my blog posts and the articles I was sharing here on Substack. In both cases, the content will be free and available to anyone who wants to read it.

Many people don't know this, but posts, videos, audio, images, links, polls, etc.ย on Patreon can also be open to anyone, like in a blog. So, please don't worry, there will still be a lot of free content on my Patreon.

By the way, anyone can follow others on Patreon and read anything that is not behind a paywall. All you have to do is create an account (it's free ๐Ÿ˜‰), download the App and follow all the creators you like.

Yes, Substack also has many of these features. Like, LinkedIn, Facebook, Mastodon, and others. Let's face it, they are all getting closer and closer in features, which is precisely the problem. The only thing I did was choose one. That's it.

This decision was difficult, but it was an important one to make. By having a central place to share free and paid content, I will be able to be more active and present.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Have a fantastic week,

Vlad.
